Happy Holidays · Dec 27, 08:44 PM

I hope everyone had a enjoyable holiday. I certainly did.

The matches over the weekend were simply fantastic. I was pretty sure Real Madrid had enough to outlast Barcelona in the Clasico and I was not surprised by the result. I’ve always liked Julio Baptista, I think he has been out of place the last two seasons and it’s not surprising that he is in such good form right now. This derby won’t go down as one of the legendary matches, but it was still enjoyable to watch. In my opinion, Barcelona had the quality to get a result, but Real played a very tough and solid defensive game. Pepe had another great game and he is starting to prove himself to the club and the supporters, he could have a great future ahead of him. Overall, I think Barcelona are in trouble right now. The atmosphere at the Nou Camp seemed rather subdued and this team doesn’t seem to be playing with a whole lot of confidence.

The Inter-AC Milan contest was very entertaining to watch. The first 15 minutes featured some of the most bone-crunching tackles you’ll see in Italy. This was a match that was played with all of the intensity that derby should have. Milan fought hard the entire contest but it was pretty clear that the long flight from Japan affected them. Inter have a much stronger squad and after a moment of brilliance from Andrea Pirlo in the beginning of the match, they quickly regained their bearings and got themselves a win. Milan just completely ran out of gas towards the end of the match and Inter were having their way with them.

Once again, I hope everyone had a happy holidays, jersey reviews start in the new year.
